Celebrity Fight Night is not only a fun-filled night where celebrities and professional athletes from all over the country contribute to a night filled with unbelievable live musical performances from artists like Diana Ross and Michael Bublé, but more importantly, has raised almost 40 million dollars over the past 12 years benefiting the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute which provides diagnostic and treatment services, research, and education for Parkinson’s disease.
When you hear about Parkinson’s disease, you may recognize such celebrities suffering from this debilitating disease such as actor Michael J. Fox, or the late Johnny Cash, but Muhammad Ali too was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in the early 1980s. Although Muhammad Ali ended his boxing career in 1981 as a three-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion with 56 wins, he continues today to fight the challenges that came with the disease and continues still today to advocate on behalf of others living with Parkinson’s in raising money to fund treatment and further research.
